I've lived in the Ardea for two months and am very happy with it. The physical location is gorgeous, with to-die-for views of the river from the south side and a neighborhood with a lovely park, physicians' offices and several pubs and eateries, as well as the gorgeous riverfront trail and a hundred park benches from which to watch the world go by. I'm impressed with management's commitment to maintenance -- public spaces and hallways painted during my short time here -- and the garbage and recycling are always picked up. Nice, diverse clientele of neighbors too. Big thumbs-up to the Ardea.

I’ve lived at the Ardea in the sidecar building for almost five years and have experienced new management several times. The current management is basically non existent. I’m writing this review instead of sending management an email because I will get no response. Very rarely does the manager respond to calls or emails. I called management on 2/17 around 12:30 and informed Dominic that the front door of the sidecar building was broken yet again and to call their vendor to come out and fix the door. I asked him to put up a sign to let the residents know that the door was broken and to try and shut the door when entering and leaving. The door swings wide open and won’t shut or lock unless you do it yourself and you have to try many times. I got home from work yesterday and noticed there wasn’t a sign on the door. I went to management and spoke to a different guy in the office and asked him to put up a sign. Not asking for much. He assured me there would be a sign and still 24 hours later there is no sign. I have seen the door open three times today. There are boxes for residents sitting right next to the door so anyone can come in and steal them, and anyone can enter the building who isn’t a resident, which is a HUGE safety concern. The front door and also door to the courtyard has been broken many times within the last year or so. At this point whatever vendor they are using clearly isn’t fixing the door. Maybe it’s time to actually pay for a new door! For the amount we pay to live here we shouldn’t have to deal with not feeling safe. I don’t want a generic response from management. I want the door fixed and for management to do their jobs and until the door is fixed there should be security in the lobby. It typically takes weeks for a vendor to come out and “fix” the door. This isn’t a maintenance issue, this is a flaw in management. Maintenance is great and hard working.
