About Off-Campus Housing Near Institute of Production and Recording
The Institute of Production and Recording is a small, focused vocational school in the southwest Minneapolis metro area dedicated to training students in audio production, music business, and recording arts. With an enrollment of roughly 300 students, IPR offers an intimate learning environment built around hands-on studio work rather than a traditional liberal arts curriculum. The school's programs are designed to move students quickly into professional-level skills, with coursework covering mixing, mastering, live sound, music production software, and the business side of the recording industry. IPR operates from a single facility near the Edina border that houses professional-grade recording studios and production labs. Institute of Production and Recording Housing Requirements
Freshman Live-On Requirement
IPR does not require students to live on campus. The school has no residential housing facilities of its own. Students are entirely responsible for arranging off-campus housing from their first day of enrollment.
Off-Campus Eligibility
All students are eligible to rent off-campus housing immediately upon admission. Because the campus sits near the Edina and Bloomington border southwest of Minneapolis, most students rent apartments in the surrounding Minneapolis metro area. Neighborhoods like Uptown, the Whittier district, and areas along the Green Line light rail corridor are popular choices.
